To assist guests who would like to explore Algonquin park with
their dogs, we have adopted the old established French tradition of welcoming canine friends on the property in designated cabins. Dogs are welcome at our Shoreline one-bedroom cabins (we have three) and in our two-bedroom cabins on the mainland (we have two) and at Crowe Cottage.
In order to ensure all guests (dog owners and non-dog owners alike) have a comfortable visit, we have a few special guidelines:
Your Dog at Killarney Lodge
- We welcome one well-behaved dog per cabin. No "barkers" please!
- Your dog must be comfortable with being confined - either in a cage in your cabin or in your car - while you are in the dining room or our guest lounge.
- There is a $25 per night additional charge for your dog and a damage deposit is required.
- Guests planning to bring a dog must make advance reservations for their dog as well as themselves.
Restrictions / Regulations
- Dogs are restricted to the portion of the property that is on the mainland (and not the peninsula). All of our “dogs welcome” cabins have plenty of waterfront property to ensure many hours of same, happy play and exercise. Please do not bring your dog to the beach or past the parking lot.
- We ask dog owners to be as responsible for your pet at the Lodge as you would be at home. You must always pick/scoop up after your dog. Killarney Lodge will supply you with scooping bags.
- Algonquin Park regulations require that dogs must always be on a lead and that lead be no longer than 2m (6.5 ft). Therefore, for the safety of all Lodge guests, staff and dogs, and especially local wildlife, we request that dogs always be on a lead and in their owner's keeping.
- Dogs are not allowed on the furniture in the guest cabins. Please bring your dog's bedding, favourite toys, and sheets for the furniture. If your dog likes to swim, please bring towels to dry your dog - our bath and beach towels are not appropriate for this purpose.
- Guests who bring a dog will be asked to sign a waiver agreeing to these conditions upon check-in.
Damage Deposit
- Up to $300 of the deposit made at the time of your reservation may be used for additional cleaning (including scooping by our staff - if needed), loss of property, or damage to cabins, decks or landscaping caused by your dog.
- Killarney Lodge will not be responsible for any accident, injury or illness that may occur to your dog while you are a guest.
